Is it the right time to introduce the person you’re dating to your friends?

We all have that one friend who is known to bring a new girlfriend/boyfriend everytime theres barkada reunion. Avoid being that person by introducing your significant other when you are no longer scared of them ghosting you.

○ Clear things up first! Make sure that both of you have the same things in mind.

Define your relationship first before you put them under the pressure of introducing them to your friends and family.

If you have a close guy/girl friends, how should you introduce them?

○ Keep it casual.

Invite them to a movie, your office party or your favorite band’s gig! Introduce them in a place where you don’t have to immediately delve into deep/long conversations and they can just get to know each other first.

○ Keep it within a group of friends. Don’t go on a double date especially when you haven’t established your relationship with each other (awkwaaard).

Observe how they are with your friends/family

When you finally decide to introduce the person you are dating, observe how they will act with your friends/family.

It’s important that they get along because dating someone who doesn’t approve of your friends or someone your friends don’t approve of can cause you to lose important people in your life.

○ Observe the kind of friends they have. It could be uncomfortable to be with someone whose circle of friends have a completely different lifestyle from you.
