Things I Learned As A First-Time Mom

Allow me to blabber on this episode as I share with you the lessons I’ve learned in the first months of my motherhood journey.

Things every new mom should know:

1) Take care of yourself.

Taking care of yourself is important, especially as a new mom. It's easy to get caught up in taking care of your baby and neglecting your own needs, but taking time for yourself can help you to be a better mom in the long run.

2) Acknowledge your partner.

Having a supportive partner can make a big difference when you're adjusting to life as a new mom. They can help with everything from diaper changes to emotional support, and can make the transition to parenthood smoother and less overwhelming.

3) Have a routine.

Establishing a routine for your baby can help to create a sense of stability and predictability, which can be comforting for both you and your baby. It can also help to make daily tasks like feeding and sleeping easier to manage.

Sometimes you think you aren’t capable of being something, but all it takes is a different perspective.

Things to remember:

1) Ask for help.

It's okay to ask for help, whether it's from your partner, family, or friends. Being a new mom can be overwhelming, and it's important to have support when you need it.

2) Trust your instincts.

As a new mom, you may feel unsure about many things, but it's important to trust your instincts. You know your baby best, and listening to your own intuition can help you make the best decisions for your family.

3) Have good support from your community.

Having a community of other new moms can be invaluable. They can provide emotional support, advice, and a sense of camaraderie as you navigate the challenges of motherhood.

4) Practice self-forgiveness.

It's easy to feel guilty or like you're not doing enough as a new mom, but it's important to practice self-forgiveness. You're doing the best you can, and it's okay to make mistakes.

5) Cherish the moment.

Being a mom can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Watching your baby grow and develop can be a source of joy and wonder, and can make all the hard work and sleepless nights feel worthwhile.

Love is sacrifice. If you haven’t sacrificed much, you haven’t loved much.
