How do we submit to our husbands?

When it comes to the concept of wives submitting to their husbands, the Bible, specifically Ephesians 5:22-24, states the following: "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands."

The Bible teaches that husbands are called to love their wives sacrificially, just as Christ loved the church. In the same Ephesians 5 passage, it continues with instructions for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25). The emphasis here is on the sacrificial love and servant leadership that husbands should exhibit.

In the context of being an alpha woman who is strong and empowered, it is important to understand that biblical submission does not imply weakness or inferiority. Submission is not about being controlled or oppressed but rather about mutual respect, love, and partnership in marriage. It is about willingly and respectfully coming under the leadership and care of one's husband, as the husband himself is called to sacrificially love and care for his wife.

The Proverbs 31 woman, who is often held as an ideal example for wives, is also a strong and empowered woman who exercises wisdom, strength, and creativity in various aspects of her life. Understanding the concept of submission in the context of these biblical teachings means that, while a woman may be strong and empowered, she can still choose to honor and support her husband's leadership role in the relationship. It is about finding a balance between both partners' strengths and working together as a team.

God hears even the quietest prayers of our hearts.
