My Post-Partum Recovery Essentials!

What an incredible two months it has been.

Many of you already know that last July 2, my husband Juancho and I welcomed our first child, Eliam Pring Triviño into the world! Being a new mom and having this beautiful baby boy in our lives has been one of the biggest blessings and learning experiences.

Some of my friends and followers have been messaging me, asking me how the postpartum experience and motherhood life has been going. I won’t lie – it’s been exhausting, friends! Adjusting at home after giving birth was pretty rough for me, and I struggled to get used to this new addition to our home and do my best to be a good mom. The sleepless nights, the feeding, the diaper changing… you hear a lot of stories about it, but you never really understand until you actually go through it! 

But even with all of the motherhood struggles, I’m always just thanking God for blessing me with this child and this family that I’ve been praying for so earnestly. Years ago, I never would have imagined the overwhelming love He would grace me with at this point in my life! I have the most incredible support system: Juancho, our families, my close friends, my church family, my therapist. So many people I’m grateful for! And after two months, I can say that I’m adjusting well to my new mom life and loving it


The Essentials

There are some things that I’ve found essential to my postpartum recovery. First of all, rest! Sleeping in is a luxury I don’t really have anymore. So, the power that a good night’s sleep or a long nap has for a new mother is incredible.

Also, having great healthy meals is now a must for me. I want to help my body recover as much as possible, so by giving it all the nutrients it needs, I’m hoping to get stronger day by day. But I can’t help it, of course – the occasional date night with hubby along with some slices of pizza or my fave dessert doesn’t hurt!

My next essential: making our home a beautiful, calming, invigorating place. I recently started getting back to work (from home!), so taking care of Eliam while juggling work tasks can sometimes be a challenge. I want to make sure that I create an environment that makes me feel at peace while going through my daily routine.
