How To Process Your Emotions

“HOW TO PROCESS YOUR EMOTIONS” EP. 16 SHOW NOTES FROM THE PODCAST:

Ever felt completely overwhelmed with emotions? Or wonder why you feel or do certain things? Everyone’s felt that way before and it is completely normal. In this minisode, we are back again with one of our favorite guests, Aaron Atayde, to answer your question: How do you process emotions?

How do you process emotions?

○ First, know that every action is caused by an emotion. By processing emotions, you try to find out exactly why you are doing things.

○ Take time to breathe. It's easy to be controlled by your emotions. If you are feeling a spike of emotion, take a breather. Sit down, pray and literally breathe. Don’t act when you are consumed by your emotions.

○ Write it down. What are you feeling? What do you want to do? What is the right thing to do? If you don’t have time, you can just quickly type it on your phone.

○ Share with other people what you are going through. Tell the people you trust and love what you feel. Affirm with them if you are making the right decision.

○ Journal. If you can, you can journal everyday to reflect and process your actions.

○ Everyone has their own way of processing emotions. There is no wrong process. Just try them all out and see which one works best for you
