Protecting Your Peace During Crisis

Now more than ever, we need to protect our inner peace from being dismantled by the crisis. In this episode, Joyce and Coach Lyqa Maravilla talked about how to fine-tune mindsets and boundaries to help us keep our peace.

Has everyone given up already? How to see the light at the end of the tunnel?

It’s tough to keep your peace amidst everything that’s happening
— Joyce Pring

How can we protect our peace?

○ Change the way you perceive yourself. Detach your thoughts from others.

○ Know who we are and who we are in His eyes. It really won’t be based on other externals and it’s not a one-time thing. There is peace that comes from Him - which transcends all understanding and will never be based in any circumstance.

○ Coexist in the digital world and still find peace in your heart. Remind yourself of the things that you value. Also, remind yourself that your value is from God.

○ Figure out whose opinion matters to you most and why? Is what you’re experiencing right now worth all the pain and suffering that it’s causing you?

It’s going to be a journey, there are things that you would still be surprised about yourself
— Coach Lyqa Maravilla

What if things don’t work out?

○ Start cutting ties with the quality work that you put out. Do not be defined by the work that you do, you are who you are – those are just outputs. Your value or worth is not from your successes nor your failures.

You don’t have time to carry everything. If you’re doing the best of your ability to address the issue already – YOU HAVE TO LET IT GO. You kind of lose sight of hope and peace when you look around you, so stop looking outside for peace and validation – you’re never gonna get it. (JP)

When do we LET GO?

Set your expectations.

Know your limitations.

Let go.

Pray.

How can we protect other people’s peace?

○ We are so diverse. Just don’t expect the world to act the way that you wanted to because it will never! (JP)

○ Say “NO” nicely. Know when to say ‘no’ and when to say ‘yes’, that will keep your peace - know what to prioritize.

○ Be honest about it. Don’t feel compelled to do anything that someone else offers to you just for the sake of doing it. Do it because you want it to.

○ Don’t let your ego win you over. (JP)
